First America Holiday (3)
I slept on and off until we needed gas again, then drove the remainder of the trip. The ride was long, but it was really nice spending all of this time with Marco. I was truly
happy that he was here. I was getting excited as we got closer to my Mom's house. They had just moved to Florida a week before I went to Ireland. Everyone else had been
down to visit, but this was my first time. But more than that, I really wanted them to all meet each other. I had gotten the chance to meet his family, and now it was his turn
to meet mine. Poor guy! hahaha
We got to the house pretty late, but we were finally there. All I wanted to do was get my ass out of the sitting position and get the circulation flowing again. My mom of
course cried when she met Marco. But she also cries at commercials on tv, so this was to be expected. Their house was beautiful! Omigosh, it was like going to a resort, but
this was free which made it so much better!  We had a really good time just sitting and talking and laughing. Marco was laughing at everything that UncleDad was saying.
Especially when he kept imitating Marco by saying, "Das Goot!" My mom on the other hand just kept saying, "Oh he's so cute!" hahaha She was definitely getting a kick out
of his accent. And their hyper dogs were non-stop entertainment, especially Babe, the puppy. Marco says that if you look at her, even if she is just sitting there, she has a
guilty look in her eye. He's right. But then again, she's guilty of doing something wrong about 90% of the time!
I wish we had arrived earlier so that we could visit longer. But we had traveled all day and had to get up at 6:00am the next morning to go on a fishing cruise. So as
much as I was enjoying this, after a while I had to go to bed. We were sleeping in the "Elvis Room". My mom has this fascination with Elvis, so everywhere you looked in
this room, he is all you saw. How fun, sleeping in a dead guys room! We laid talking for a little while about our day and about my Mom and UncleDad. Marco really liked
them. He was comfortable with everyone else that he had met so far, but really seemed to be at ease here with them. Anytime he thought of UncleDad with the dogs, he would
say, "Charlie" (that's UncleDad) and start laughing. I was really glad he was having a good time.

I slept so well all night. I think I woke up in the same exact position that I fell asleep in. I really didn't want to get out of bed, but Marco was gonna get to do his favorite
thing this morning, fish! Needless to say, I was not as excited about it as he was. The thought of being out on the ocean where we could sink or be eaten by a shark was not
too appealing to me. And the fact that I get motion sickness added to my lack of enthusiasm. But I know how much he loved it, so I was happy to go with him. My mom was
also going. This was her gift to us, and we were happy to have her join us. UncleDad couldn't go because he had to drive his Advertising Truck up and down and up and
down the street for 4 hours. Gawd I hope I don't ever get bored enough to do that when I'm old and retired! hahaha
The boat we were going on was pretty nice. I think there were about 30 people on it in total. My mom had packed us all lunches and drinks to take with us, even though I
tried to tell her that Marco would not stop fishing for anything, not even hunger. But that just meant there was more for her and I. The first of many times that I said, "ewww"
was when they dumped the slimy disgusting bait into our trays. It was like a bucket of fish guts and I was gonna have to touch this shit? Yuck! The cruise lasted for 5 hours.
Plenty long enough for my mom and I, but Marco could have stayed out for another 10 and loved it. He caught the first fish of the morning. Yay! In total he caught about 20,
my mom caught 1, and I caught 0. Of course I got bored with fishing pretty quickly. So I would just bait my hook as Marco was fishing with his pole, then when he reeled his
line in, he would use mine, and I would bait his. We kept this up for pretty much the second half of the trip. It worked out well because he would get to fish more and I got to
sit my ass down and watch. My mom ended up going inside the cabin for about the last hour, it was much cooler in there then out on the deck. This wasn't exactly the
deep-sea fishing that he would have liked to do, but I think he enjoyed it anyway. In order to catch marlin and sharks, you have to take a 24-hour overnight trip, and pay
about $500 per person. And since there is no way in hell I want to do that, the next time we go, we will drop him off and pick him up the next day when he gets back.
When we were pulling into the dock after it was over, UncleDad was standing there waiting for us. He was taking a break from his driving. We went up to see this truck
he had told us about. Omigosh, this was a big ole billboard on wheels. The thing was huge! I just laughed my ass off at the thought of him driving this thing for hours on end.
On our way back to the house we stopped and stocked up on alcohol for the evening. Marco was thrilled because this particular liquor store carried his Dutch beer! When
we got back to the house after fishing we immediately jumped into our swimsuits and got in the pool. That lasted for about 10 minutes until we moved to the hottub. And that
is where we sat our asses for the next few hours. We had our cigarettes, our cooler of beer within arms reach, we were set. This was truly the first time we had to relax since
he had arrived. My Mom and UncleDad were inside getting dinner ready as we sat out there relaxing and listening to music. They were in charge of the music. I don't know
which was worse, when my Mom played Elvis or when UncleDad blasted the Irish songs. Their neighbors must love them! hahaha
We had a nice dinner and sat around talking for a while afterwards. They were all getting along so well, it was a shame we couldn't stay longer. I would have loved just to
spend our whole week there with them. We stayed inside until UncleDad went to bed, and then we went back out to the hottub for a while before going to sleep. We didn't stay
out too long, just about an hour or so. It was a beautiful night, and just getting to lay there together was great. Eventually we were both so relaxed, that if we didn't get up
and go to bed, we would have fallen asleep right there and drowned. Besides, we had to get up at 4:00am to start our drive to Orlando.

That damn alarm clock, Gawd I hated it!  We got up, packed our stuff, and had a cup of coffee before starting the 7-hour drive to Orlando. UncleDad was still sleeping,
but my Mom was awake and had packed us a goody bag to take with us. She's an awesome mom! So by about 4:30am we were in the truck, on our way to the next stop on the
Tour Of America. This was carefully planned so that we would arrive in time to go to Universal Studios by 12:00pm. We were to spend today at Universal, then spend the
next day in Seaworld. We only had 2 days available to spend in Orlando, because we had to be back in St. Louis by Sunday night so I could watch my little buddy Geoffrey's
High School Graduation.
